29/10/2025
The First Vice Chairman of the Amman Chamber of Commerce, Nabeel Al-Khatib, discussed with the Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda to the Kingdom, James Ngango, a number of topics aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the economic and commercial fields, and exploring ways to benefit from the available investment opportunities on both sides.
Al-Khatib explained that the meeting comes as a follow-up to the outcomes of the Jordanian delegation’s visit to Rwanda last October, which was headed by the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply, Eng. Yarub Al-Qudah, and included representatives from the Jordanian private sector. During the visit, meetings of the Joint Committee on Trade and Investment were held, along with a Jordan–Rwanda Business Forum organized on the sidelines of the visit.
He emphasized that the meeting with the Rwandan ambassador represents a practical step toward translating both sides’ efforts to expand the horizons of economic, commercial, and investment cooperation, noting the importance of organizing specialized exhibitions and exchanging trade delegations between the two countries.
Al-Khatib stressed the commitment of the commercial and service sectors in Jordan to further develop economic relations with Rwanda in various fields, especially during this phase, which requires enhanced cooperation to address regional and international challenges and their impact on the global economy.
He added that the Rwandan ambassador proposed the organization of a joint business forum between the Rwandan Embassy in Amman and all relevant Jordanian public and private sector entities in the fields of economy, trade, and investment. The event is scheduled to take place on the 13th of next month, as a prelude to the next session of the Jordanian–Rwandan Joint Committee meetings, which will be held in Amman in March 2026.
For his part, the Rwandan ambassador affirmed his country’s commitment to strengthening economic relations with Jordan and opening new horizons for mutual cooperation that would benefit both friendly nations.
Ambassador Ngango pointed out that the proposed business forum represents an important platform to deepen dialogue between business communities from both sides and to explore opportunities for cooperation and trade and investment partnerships in various sectors, including agriculture, tourism, services, and technology. He added that the forum would help enhance trade exchange and facilitate direct communication between public and private sector institutions, paving the way for the signing of cooperation agreements that serve mutual interests.
