ACC and JEDCO sign a joint cooperation memorandum to train entrepreneurs

 The Amman Chamber of Commerce and the Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO) agreed to jointly cooperate in designing and implementing support programs targeting owners of emerging projects and small and medium-sized companies, and to assist them in developing and implementing successful project plans by providing them with the necessary skills and knowledge.

 According to a press release issued by the Chamber, the two parties stressed, during the signing of a joint cooperation memorandum, the importance of supporting medium, small and micro enterprises and working to increase their size in a way that contributes to achieving economic and social development and reducing unemployment, in addition to promoting and supporting entrepreneurship projects and emerging companies in their journey towards achieving growth. Sustainable, pointing out the necessity of training and qualifying project owners so that they can overcome challenges and obstacles successfully in the future.

 According to the memorandum of cooperation signed by the Chairman of the Amman Chamber of Commerce, Khalil Al-Haj Tawfiq, and the Director of the Jordanian Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO), Abdel Fattah Al-Kayed, at the premises of the Amman Chamber of Commerce, the Amman Trade Training Academy will cooperate with the JEDCO Foundation to design joint support programs that serve the target groups, and announce About any joint programs through the databases available to both parties and social media, and evaluating the applications received from applicants for the program.

 The memorandum includes cooperation between the two parties in implementing development plans for each project benefiting from the program, monitoring implementation, evaluating achievement and evaluating impact, media coverage and promotional campaigns, exchanging information and experiences among them, designing and implementing training programs and holding seminars that serve the target groups.

 Haj Tawfiq, during the signing of the memorandum in the presence of the Vice-Chairmen of the Chamber, Nabil Al-Khatib and Bahjat Hamdan, and a member of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, Falah Al-Saghir, pointed out the importance of continuing the efforts undertaken by the Jordanian Foundation for the Development of Economic Enterprises, with the aim of supporting and increasing the size of medium, small and micro enterprises, in a way that meets The needs of entrepreneurs and owners of small and medium enterprises from the nation’s youth in the private sector, and to contribute to unleashing their creative and investment energies, within the framework of the vision of economic modernization.

 Haj Tawfiq stressed the need to implement the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II, which stress the importance of implementing training programs aimed at qualifying young men and women in the field of entrepreneurship to motivate them to establish their projects and maintain the Kingdom’s position as an incubator for innovation and leadership, and to promote and support these projects to support young people and encourage them to establish them and to support entrepreneurs and companies.

 Haj Tawfiq explained that the Amman Chamber of Commerce attaches utmost importance to training, noting that the Chamber’s Training Academy works to hold many courses, workshops and seminars for members of the General Authority that address various topics that suit the needs of the labor market.

 For his part, Al-Kayed stressed that the Jordanian economic modernization vision has focused on expanding support for these small and medium enterprises, as they are an important component of driving the national economy, in addition to their vital role in employment, raising the standard of living of citizens and fighting pockets of poverty, pointing to their effective contribution in creating Job opportunities for Jordanian youth.

 He pointed out the importance of signing the cooperation memorandum as it establishes the principle of cooperation and coordination among all institutions to achieve local economic development, noting that this memorandum translates support for the concept of entrepreneurship in a real way in terms of giving entrepreneurs and owners of small and medium enterprises the opportunity to enhance their skills and raise their capabilities to crystallize their project ideas. Translating them into business plans and financing proposals.

 He pointed out that the Foundation is considered the umbrella and technical arm of the Jordanian government to develop these projects in its various economic sectors, whether industrial, agricultural or service, as the Foundation’s tasks include qualifying these projects administratively, technically, marketing and financing, stressing that Jordan has the advantage of human resources capable of planning, implementation, innovation and creativity in various economic fields.

 Al-Kayed added that the Jordanian Corporation for Economic Enterprise Development is a model among its counterparts in the region and enjoys the confidence of various international economic institutions as a result of concrete work on the ground and the result of an ongoing partnership with the private sector, which constitutes half of its board of directors and sets strategic plans for programs aimed at developing projects in various economic fields.

 The members of the Council affirmed the Chamber’s keenness to support small and medium-sized enterprises and encourage creative projects and businesses, noting that the economies of some developed countries were founded and grew on medium and small enterprises, expressing their hope that the memorandum of cooperation will be the beginning of a new phase of joint cooperation between the two sides in a way that serves the interests of the sector. private.
