Amman Chamber of Commerce hosts a Pakistani trade delegation from Sialkot

The Amman Chamber of Commerce hosted a Pakistani trade delegation that included (7) commercial and industrial companies specialized in a number of sectors, arranged by the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, aiming at introducing Pakistani industries in some sectors to Jordanian traders.

 

According to a statement by the Chamber, the mission organized an exhibition in the sectors of (Sportswear and their accessories, Surgical Instruments, Cosmetics accessories, Hunting equipment, Horse riding accessories). The mission also held bilateral meetings that brought together Pakistani traders and their Jordanian counterparts.

 

Director General of the Amman Chamber of Commerce, Hisham Al Dweik highlighted the importance of trade missions in strengthening commercial ties between countries in general, and exchanging knowledge, experiences and expertise between them, the thing which will assist in improving the performance of these companies, and enhancing their competitiveness worldwide.

 

Al Dweik stressed that the delegation's visit is of great importance on the economic and commercial levels, as the exhibition provided an opportunity for Jordanian businessmen, traders and importers to learn about Pakistani industries in certain sectors, especially since the Pakistani market is rich in many products.

 

He also stated that the two countries' trade exchanges are still modest compared to the potential available in the two countries, the thing which requires more effort to increase the promotion of the products available on both sides, pointing out that the Kingdom's exports to Pakistan amounted to about (9) million dollars during the past year, compared to (37) million dollars in imports.

 

For his part, the Pakistani Trade and Investment Attaché to the Kingdom, Saad Ahmad Khattak, praised the role of the Amman Chamber of Commerce in organizing and hosting the trade mission at its premises, pointing to the depth of the relations that unite his country with the Kingdom at various levels for decades, stressing the need for the private sector in the two countries to intensify efforts to strengthen trade relations between the both brotherly countries.

 

Khattak also pointed out that trade relations between Jordan and Pakistan are still modest and below expectations, which requires the private sectors in the two sides to pay more effort to increase the volume of trade exchange in both ways.

 

In addition, Khattak highlighted the role of Chambers of Commerce which they play in improving trade relations between countries, praising the Role of Amman Chamber of Commerce and Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry in co-arranging such event, hoping to hold similar ones to cover all economic sectors in the near future. 

 

Representatives of Pakistani companies highlighted the importance of the Jordanian market as a destination for their products, mentioning that it is a promising market and a hub for the markets of the region.

 

During their participation in the trade mission, Pakistani traders expressed their hope to consolidate trade relations with Jordan, in a way that serves the economic interests of both countries.
