“Jordan is a gateway to the world”, Murad

 

 

The Chairman of Amman Chamber of Commerce Senator Issa H. Murad indicated that Jordan is a trade gateway to the countries of the world through the port of Aqaba which is considered the major hub for the kingdom.

Murad, during his meeting with the Ambassador of Ireland in Egypt, H.E. Mr. Sean O’Regan, accredited to the kingdom, stated that the kingdom can re-export goods within a maximum period of seven days.

Murad indicated that the Chamber has about (80%) of the Kingdom’s trade activity, expressing the Chamber’s readiness to provide all economic information for the Embassy.

The Senator also indicated that opening a new Irish Embassy in the kingdom the current year is a step towards enhancing bilateral economic relations between the two friendly countries.

Murad said that both countries must work together on the current issues involving the reconstruction of Syria and Iraq, and establishing new joint ventures.

On his side, the Irish Ambassador indicated that his countries Jordan as a top priority in the region, aiming at enhancing economic and trade relations.

He also stated that the Irish investments will make a study on the Jordanian market and will hold meetings with business owners of the interested sectors in preparation for building partnerships and importing Jordanian products such as the agricultural products.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Jamal Fariz, Mr. Tareq Tabba’, Mrs. Reem Badran and the Honorary Consul of Ireland in Jordan in addition to the Irish Commercial Attaché in Cairo, Mr. Mike Hogan.
